One wounded in West Bank auto ramming attack

A Palestinian crashed a vehicle into a bus stop at a tense junction in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, wounding one person before soldiers opened fire and killed the assailant, Israel's military said.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the attacker died of his wounds and the IDF confirmed the report.

According to Ma'an documentation, Mashahra is the 19th Palestinian to have been killed by Israelis since the beginning of the year.

Israel's national rescue service says the 60-year-old man was treated for a head injury after Wednesday's incident.

On Friday, a British student named Hannah Bladon, 21, was stabbed to death on the Jerusalem light rail by a Palestinian man from East Jerusalem, who apparently attacked her in order to be killed by a soldier who was on the tram.

The incident was the latest in a spate of violence between Israelis and Palestinians that have claimed lives of at least 241 Palestinians, 41 Israelis, two US nationals, a British tourist, and two African asylum seekers since September 2015.
