She added, "If you dream big and work hard you can accomplish great things".

After being awarded the title, Victoria said: "It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today".

The designer was supported by her husband David Beckham and parents, Jackie and Tony Adams.

Victoria smiled as Prince William did the honors, wearing a long-sleeved black dress and burgundy heels from her own collection.

The former Spice Girl and ELLE's May cover star was recognised for her services to the fashion industry and her charity work across her 17-year career.

"I love how you make me laugh every day and whatever happens you always seem to be happy". I love you to the moon and back!

Congratulations, Victoria. All the more we want to live a life similar to yours.

Speaking ahead of her visit to the Palace, the mother-of-four admitted losing touch with most of her school pals over time.

Victoria was joined at the Palace ceremony by Team GB heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, who was made a Dame, and Wolf Hall actor Mark Rylance, who was knighted for his services to theatre.
