Senate Intelligence Committee leaders demand Comey's notes

"While the president has repeatedly expressed his view that Gen. Flynn is a decent man who served and protected our country, the president has never asked Mr. Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving Gen. Flynn". In the other letter, the committee asked McCabe for "any notes or memorandum" Comey prepared about any communications he had with senior White House or Department of Justice officials about Russia-related investigations.

Mr Trump met Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov, and the Russian ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak, at the White House on Wednesday last week. In this memo, Trump allegedly says, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go". Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), chair of the House Oversight Committee, sent a letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation demanding all documents relating to communications between Mr. Comey and the president.

Will this scandal lead to President Trump being removed from office? Comey associates said the president was referring to an ongoing investigation of Trump's national security adviser, Michael Flynn, who resigned a day before the conversation.

Striking a defiant stance, he added: "You can't let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams".

On the other side of the partisan divide, a small but growing number of Democrats are speaking openly about impeachment, arguing that Trump obstructed justice when he asked then-FBI Director James Comey to "go easy" in its probe of Flynn's ties to Russian Federation.

If the events in the memo happened in the way that Comey says, President Trump would find himself likely being impeached by the House of Representatives.

Hours after a news report that President Trump had asked the FBI director to back away from an investigation, Democrats seized on the information to accuse the White House of a serious crime.

LeBron, Love help Cavs rout Celtics 117-104 in Game 1
Love opened up the floor for James, burying outside jumpers and forcing Boston to leave defenders one-on-one with James. In Game 1, James established himself from the outset, scoring 15 of his game-high 38 points in the first quarter.

The White House denied the account.

"If the USA administration finds it possible, we are ready to provide a recording of the conversation between Lavrov and Trump to the U.S. congress and senate", he said during a press conference, although aides hurriedly explained that Mr Putin meant to offer notes rather than a tape.

The reports were based on a memo Comey wrote in February after meeting with the president. But there is more than enough cause for concern, and we're heartened to see that congressional Republicans agree. An official pointed out that the acting FBI director last week testified that there had been no effort to impede the investigation.

The person who described the Comey memo to the AP was not authorised to discuss it by name and spoke on condition of anonymity. Flynn is one of the subjects of the FBI investigation.

Chairman Richard Burr, a North Carolina Republican, and Vice Chairman Mark Warner, a Democrat from Virginia, said they have asked Comey to testify before the panel in both open and closed sessions. In January, Trump reportedly sought a pledge of loyalty from Comey and failed to obtain it.

The memo could border on "the legal definition of obstruction of justice", he said. He is a good guy.
