'I was frozen': Cosby accuser says she was drugged, groped

The defense has pointed out that phone records show Constand called Cosby 53 times after she says he assaulted her. Constand told the jury the calls mostly involved the women's basketball team, especially around tournament time. Even Judge Steven T O'Neill and the defence lawyers of the legendary comedian did not know that she would testify so early in the trial. Cosby, who has said he does not plan to testify, repeatedly lowered and shook his head as she spoke.

"I felt really humiliated and I was really confused", Constand said, wiping tears from her eyes.

The cross-examination will continue Wednesday.

Cosby faces charges that he drugged and assaulted Constand, a former Temple University employee, at his Philadelphia home.

She quoted him as saying - "They'll take the edge off". "He said, 'I apologize to Andrea and I apologize to you'". "I felt him reach for my zipper, and I leaned forward and stopped that".

When he asked for her cellphone number and invited her to his house for dinner, she didn't think he had anything romantic in mind. Cosby then penetrated her with his hand, she said, and also placed her hand on his genitals, she said.

"I was frozen. I was very limp so I wasn't able to fight in any way".

Constand's testimony on Tuesday casts new light on Cosby's assertion that Constand consented to the sexual activity because, as he said in the 2005 deposition, "She does not look angry".

Constand claimed Cosby assisted her to the couch and laid her down, and that she doesn't recall passing out.

She said Cosby told her, "I thought you had an orgasm".

Months later, Cosby reportedly left four tickets for Constand and her family to attend one of his shows.

"The absence of Camille Cosby is noted, usually a person charged with a crime, their spouse comes to show support for them", said attorney Gloria Allred, who represents 33 Cosby accusers. She testified that he grabbed her thigh during one instance at his home and attempted to unbutton her trousers in another.

Cosby maintains only that he gave Constand the antihistamine Benadryl to relieve stress, insists their sexual relations were consensual and accuses her of lying.

Cosby apologized to Constand's mother during a later phone call but again declined to say what medication he'd given her, Constand said. "He was a Temple friend, somebody I trusted, a mentor and somewhat of an older figure to me".

On Tuesday, the defense asked her why she continued to see him after those reported attempts.

"My dress was pulled up from the bottom, and it was pulled down from the top, and my breasts were out", she said, crying.

What's more, Constand's seemingly suggestive behavior toward Cosby was brought into question.

In yesterday's testimony, a woman identified as "victim number six" described being drugged and sexually molested by Cosby. But the defense emphasized inconsistencies between Constand's testimony and in accounts she gave to police a decade ago, including how she first met the actor. Mason testified he responded to Constand's home in Pickering, about 10 p.m. January 13, 2005, at which time Constand revealed the alleged sexual assault.

"The only thing that is worse than [sexual assault] is the false accusation of sexual assault", McMonagle said, adding that a false allegations can "destroy a man's life".

She said she also feared what Cosby might do.

Cosby, 79, is charged with aggravated indecent assault and he could be jailed for 10 years if convicted.
