Lonzo Ball's draft stock stays strong with Lakers watching

There have been plenty of Lakers rumors surrounding the team in recent days.

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN brings word that the Lakers "have engaged at least two teams in the lottery" about adding a third pick to their current selections at No. 2 and No. 28 overall.

The Detroit Pistons are said to be looking to move their No. 12 overall pick, and sources have told Amico Hoops the Pistons and Lakers may have already connected. They will have an opportunity to find a talented player at number 8 that can help take away from the distractions the front office has created. The Jazz might be the most willing to sell one of their picks, so they could see how free agency plays out, especially with Gordon Hayward potentially leaving. Majority are looking for players who will come in and start right away and see if they have someone they can build around.

With it now clear that Philadelphia will take Markelle Fultz with the No. 1 pick in the draft, the rest of the top of the draft is starting to take shape.

Hurricane forecasters keeping an eye on Gulf this weekend
Computer model forecasts are very shaky at this time, but it appears South Florida will not have any concerns with this system. A lopsided disturbance in the southern Gulf of Mexico is on the verge of becoming a tropical system in the next 24-48 hours.

"The Suns have been trying to trade up and have had conversations with both the Lakers and Celtics", Ford wrote Monday.

Ball, a native of L.A., has only worked out for the Lakers and hasn't even met with any other teams. "Then from three down to nine or ten, you've got a combination of three more point guards, a couple of outstanding wing players in Jackson and Tatum", he added. That probably leaves the Lakers deciding between Ball and former Kansas star Josh Jackson, but Jackson is a swingman like George.

Ball, 19, averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 assists and 6.0 rebounds over 36 games in his lone season with the Bruins in 2016-17.
