Pixel 2 "Walleye" and "Taimen" Specifications Revealed

However, while generally well-recieved, they didn't really take off in the way the company had hoped. Stay tuned with us for more updates on the gen-next Google Pixel smartphones.

We are expecting to see some new Google Pixel smartphones this year and now we have some more information on these two handsets. According to new reports, it seems the deal may have gone through, because Google Pixel 2 Taimen will reportedly come with 1440p OLED panel from LG. The effective screen size will be 5.99 inches.

The Walleye device is said to be smaller than Taimen, boasting a comparatively dinky 4.97-inch display with a Full HD 1080p resolution. Google is also planning to add stereo speakers at the cost of 3.5mm headphone jack, which means it will sport USB Type-C compatible headphone slot. The smartphone will come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor and have up to 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.

XDA-Developers also indicate the design of the Google Pixel 2 might not change so drastically, and it will continue with the glass and metal finish, but the glass will be near the top of the phone.

Naturally, both Google Pixel 2 models will be running the latest Android O mobile operating system, which should ideally release to OEMs alongside the Pixel 2 smartphones.

The other Google Pixel 2 smartphone coming this year is codenamed as the Walleye. This news aligns quite well with a previous report that Google has invested a significant sum into LG's mobile display development business.

The official said rescued people are being sent to the local hospital in Guatape. "The floor began to shake and everything sunk". Jorge Barragan said his three elderly aunts had taken his daughter to Guatape from Bogota to celebrate early her 15th birthday.

As far as the smaller Walleye (4.97-inch) is concerned, it is said to have nearly the same design language as the last year's generic 5.0-inch Pixel phone.

Outside of that, your guess is as good as ours. Unlike its larger sibling, however, the design of the smaller Pixel 2 device would be largely identical to last year's versions. It's highly likely that HTC will once again manufacture the Pixel 2 and 2 XL after S2 and M2 codenames were found in the HTC U11's system files. The phone would be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chip clocked at 2.45GHz. It is also expected that the Android O operating system to be used. Last years' Pixel XL featured a 5.5 inched display.

Google has yet to give a definite date as to when the Google Pixel 2 will be released.

The Pixel 2 is set to launch in just a few months, which explains the sudden increase of Pixel 2 rumors. XDA Developers appears to have obtained information about both the successors and here's what they have to say.

Moving on, the most interesting aspect, however, is that the larger Taimen uses the name "Nexus Imprint" in the pre-production software while the Walleye refers to the same as the "Pixel Imprint".
