Regarding the substance, Akhmetshin said that in the course of her work for clients, Veselnitskaya had discovered that a USA hedge fund which "seemed linked to the (Democratic National Committee)" was operating in violation of Russian tax and securities law. He said he was drafted into the Soviet army and served from 1986 to 1988 but was not trained in spy tradecraft. Federal investigators and congressmen are investigating potential links between the campaign and Russian Federation.

Homeland said Veselnitskaya first got her immigration parole letter on September 25, 2015 and it was last used in February 2016.

Though, it is still unclear whether Veselnitskaya actually fulfilled the promised compromising information about Clinton or not. "This could be a good issue to expose how the DNC is accepting bad money", Akhmetshin recalled her saying.

Trump Jr. hired an attorney of his own, Alan Futerfas, earlier in the week.

Even if the ongoing Russian Federation questions don't end in legal consequences for Mr Trump, they can still inflict serious political damage if allowed to drag out, experts say.
