Disney on Sunday treated its fans a sneak peek into what the live-action flick Lion King is going to look like.

It was revealed to Omega Underground by someone with knowledge from the production that Hugh Jackman (Logan) has joined the voice cast of The Lion King as the main antagonist Scar.

Just as this rumored casting began gaining steam, sources were quick to shut it down.

The rumor was denied when TheWrap approached Jackman's representatives, who confirmed the falsified information.

Default HTC 10 Keyboard App Begins Showing Ads To Users
During the past few days, HTC users have been complaining that they are seeing ads on the company's in-built keyboard app. Not only is it annoying, the ads use space that could be employed in a way to make the keyboard better.

According to a new report, there is "absolutely no truth" to Jackman being attached. He chose to bring some of the footage with him and debuted it to the crowd at D23. This looks like another Disney blockbuster after huge successes of Jungle Book and The Beauty and the Beast.

Jackman certainly has the ferocity to play Scar, and will bring his many talents to the character. However, that is highly unlikely. Mufasa will be voiced yet again by the one and only James Earl Jones, who could simply not be replaced. This does ultimately mean that Jeremy Irons will not return in the role that he made famous in the original animated feature, but Jackman is a worthy successor. Unfortunately, for now it seems as if this claim doesn't hold water but fans still have hope for Jackman.

Are you excited for The Lion King? If Jackman and Beyonce both end up in the film, it would be one of the best ensemble casts Disney has ever compiled. Note: Disney has not stated when and if it will release this first look at the film. With his career defining role now behind him, he is looking to beef up his schedule - that currently includes The Greatest Showman hitting theaters later this year.
