The latest move comes after he had a brief cameo appearance on Game of Thrones, which was seriously mocked by some fans. He played a soldier who could be seen singing while sat around a campfire before he encounters Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

The British musician's Twitter account conspicuously disappeared Monday, after his appearance on GoT was ridiculed by social media users.

Schools will also be expected to sign up to so-called national deals on things like energy to save money, Ms Greening said. But Labour's Angela Rayner said there "wasn't a penny of new money".

Ed Sheeran's been having an on-off relationship with Twitter for a while.

Stark said to the 26-year-old's unnamed character: "It's a pretty song, I've never heard it before".

Fresh from his Game of Thrones of cameo, the singer will appear once again on our television screens in October.

Similar to Game of Thrones, Ed will not be playing himself - his character's name is Brendan who is reportedly a new love interest for Lisa Simpson and arch enemy of Milhouse.

"Seeing Ed Sheeran in #gameofthones was the biggest wtf moment of my existence", one viewer wrote on Twitter.
