The phone launched in India for a price of Rs 19,990 and will be a Flipkart exclusive available from 18th July from 4 PM. The phone with had made its global launch past year. This phone runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS.

The noteworthy aspect of Kodak Ektra is its cameras - it features a 21-megapixel auto-focus primary camera with Aperture f2.0, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Phase Detection Auto Focus and HDR Imaging. The company claims that the camera-oriented Ektra smartphone is designed for aspiring photographers, from enthusiasts to experts to capture exceptional pictures. For selfies, it has 13MP front camera with phase detection, auto focus and F/2.2 aperture. Already available in the U.S. and Europe, the KODAK EKTRA Smartphone lets keen photographers capture exceptional images, whatever the environment, with an incredibly fast smartphone, tuned for the best in image quality and media management.

The Kodak Ektra smartphone comes with a 5-inch Full HD display, carrying a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Kodak Ektra is powered with deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor clocked at 2.3GHz.

The auto manufacturer reported $1.70 earnings per share for the quarter, topping analysts' consensus estimates of $1.45 by $0.25. The Company operates in four segments: Automotive, Financial Services, Ford Smart Mobility LLC, and Central Treasury Operations.

"Driven by the enthusiasm from customers globally, we are thrilled to bring the Kodak Ektra to photo enthusiasts in India.", said Peter Stephens, CEO Bullitt Group, a Kodak licensee for mobile devices. On the front, the Ektra comes with a 13-megapixel camera. The Ektra was first showcased in October a year ago and was focused at users looking for advanced photography features from a smartphone camera. The Kodak Ektra also comes pre-loaded with Google's SNAPSEED photo-editing app, that provides best photo editing tools to edit images instantly and the Super 8 app for applying professional effects similar to Kodak's Super 8 film stocks. However, the storage is expandable via microSD card. The users can also adjust shutter speed and ISO with the manual mode option. This is achieved by the use of Kodak-certified lens coating that enables more light to reach the sensor without increasing ISO noise, brightening underexposed areas and stabilising blur from slow shutter speeds.

The speaker comes with Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR connectivity and a range of up to 10 meters. "Our latest features and performance adjustments include RAW support, all of which will help drive our customers' creativity." he added.

The smartphone is available online at a price of Rs 19,990, which is way cheaper than its global price of United States dollars 466 (approximately Rs 29,990).
