Pep Guardiola is unmoved by Manchester City's standing as pre-season favourites for the Premier League title.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said the club will curb their transfer spending in future years after a huge outlay on players during the close season.

Brighton and Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town are the fresh-faced newcomers in the Premier League this season, while Rafael Benitez's Newcastle United return after a term in the Championship.

"We did it earlier and we are lucky because it would be more expensive now", said the Catalan. It's going to be tough for them.

Former England captain Alan Shearer feels Chelsea need to sign at least two or three players in the final few weeks of the transfer window to have any chance of retaining their Premier League title. There´s a gulf between Albion and City. We were not able with those players to find a solution.

"They are all great people and good friends". Perhaps we´ve got to ensure that all our players give their all and hope that City are off-colour, but it can happen that way.

"I just think Manchester City have strengthened in all the right areas where they needed to", says Matt Le Tissier. We are strong defensively and I predict 1-1. "Last season in my first news conference we were the favourites so nothing has changed".

"It's the same pressure as I had last season", Guardiola explained. "For example, hopefully next season I will be here and we are not going to spend how we spent this season. That is the top (and only) priority, and the club will do all it can to achieve that".

The most expensive of those, Marko Arnautovic, arrives on a five-year contract from Stoke City for £19 million after scoring an underwhelming 22 goals in 125 games.

Following the completion of the purchase, the director now owns 18,000 shares in the company, valued at approximately $1,006,920. It dropped, as 75 investors sold KMB shares while 457 reduced holdings. 126 funds opened positions while 468 raised stakes.

"We're not expected to beat teams like City. I'm not going to change the way I want to play".

He added: "We played four games, one with four at the back and the last three with three at the back".

But those deals pale in comparison to City's spending and Hughton said: "Whatever City's starting team is against our starting team, there's no doubt there is going to be an incredibly massive difference".

"They also told me about the city".

"Anthony Knockaert seems to be one of Brighton´s better players".

Ederson is set to start Saturday's opening game against Brighton & Hove ahead of Claudio Bravo, who endured a miserable debut season following his move from Barcelona last August.

A superb first 11 with top scorer Harry Kane and a dynamic midfield it's hard to look past Spurs reaching the upper echelons of the league once again. I am backing him to deliver this time around, though.

"Last season we were [favourites] too and we finished 15 points behind", he told a news conference.
