PM Abbasi announces Rs25bn development package for Karachi

The meeting was briefed on overall security situation in the Sindh province in general and Karachi in particular.

The prime minister said the development funds would be spent under the supervision of the Sindh governor and hoped that the projects would complete timely.

A smartly dressed contingent of Pakistan Navy presented guard of honour to Prime Minister Abbasi on his visit to the mausoleum of the father of the nation.

The MQM delegation comprised of Dr Farooq Sattar, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar, Faisal Sabzwari, Amir Khan and others.

PM Abbasi said he would have visited Karachi even if MQM had not voted for him in the PM elections, as Karachi is the hub of Pakistan's economy, told MQM-Pakistan head.

He said that MQM-P was a political party and within the legal limits all the genuine problems of the party would be addressed.

On the occasion, the prime minister also announced Rs5 billion for various development schemes in Hyderabad.
