Police summon Bigg Boss Contestant

The ex-Bigg Boss contestant and people's favourite Oviya, has received summons by the Nazarathpet police following a complaint filed by an advocate alleging her that she attempted suicide inside the sets of the show.

The petitioner has asked for the show to be banned on the grounds of protecting Tamil culture.

In his complaint, the advocate has said that Oviya allegedly made an unsuccessful bid to end her life in the Bigg Boss Tamil house on the episode aired on 4 August on Vijay TV, reports The Hindu.

The complainant has claimed that the Oviya was driven to suicide by the tasks forced upon her by the producers, the show's host and the channel. Her suicide attempt was telecast on TV to garner TRP ratings for the show and the channel, he said. He also urged the police to probe the same.

"We have recorded the complaint in the Community Social Register", Inspector Jaichandran, Nazarathpeth police told The Hindu. However, sources close to Oviya denies that the actress didn't attempt suicide.

Oviya left the Big Boss house last weekend due to mental health issues. Till then check out the list of contestants who been nominated for elimination. She had used the word "cheri" (slum) while talking about a fellow housemate's behaviour on the show. The group had claimed that actor Shakti handled the Nadasvaram without respect on the show.
