Arsene Wenger sends message to Arsenal fans about Alexandre Lacazette after opener

It took Lacazette just 94 seconds to score in the Premier League with his second touch in England's top-flight. Those pointless preseason friendlies and the miserable Gold Cup are a thing of the past. Late Welsh equalizers and meaty French foreheads somehow have Arsenal at the top of the league.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has told Arsene Wenger he'd like to be starting more games after netting a late victor in tonight's 4-3 thriller against Leicester City.

"It's simple, in every game he is stronger since he joined us", Wenger said. Holding came out late in the match in favor of center forward Olivier Giroud and somehow the plan worked.

The Frenchman came off the bench for the Gunners to head home in the 85th minute, turning a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 lead in the closing stages.

A Jamie Vardy strike in the 29th minute left Wenger's men chasing the game and it looked like Leicester would go into the break in charge. But then Wenger said threw the kitchen sink at the Foxes.

"Top quality game and you want PL to be best in the world and you have to produce games like that", Wenger told reporters.

"The quality of their players, their fan base and the money that they can spend, they've always been unsafe", Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said.

The Premier League match between Arsenal and Leicester will be broadcast live on NBCSN.

Wenger doubled down and went with none.

Chelsea manager Conte admits red cards could prompt re-think
Fabregas was booked for sarcastically applauding Pawson's decision to give a free-kick against him and much worse was to follow. Ignoring the obvious opportunity to launch a cross into the Chelsea area, the visitors played a free-kick short.

Now with a weird back four of (from right to left) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Monreal, Kolasinac and Hector Bellerin, Arsenal pushed for an equaliser, and on 83 minutes it came.

The victor would come two minutes later when Frenchman Giroud headed in a Granit Xhaka corner that flicked off the bar and going in.

Lacazette made his Premier League debut by taking the kickoff for the Gunners.

Arsenal vs Leicester City at 2:45pm on NBCSN.

The Premier League finally returned to our screens this evening with Arsenal playing host to Leicester in the season opener.

Arsenal continued to dominate possession in the second half, only to concede a another goal in the 55th minute, when Vardy redirected a Riyad Mahrez corner kick past home goalkeeper Petr Cech.

The backline failed to deal with Marc Albrighton's cross or Harry Maguire's header across goal in the build-up to Okazaki's early equaliser, with Kolasinac guilty of wandering away from his back-post guard duty.

"We're gonna win the league!" sang the Leicester fans and they nearly had a third goal to cheer when Okazaki's header from Christian Fuchs's cross bounced just wide of Cech's left-hand post.
