And now for its latest party trick, a Model S which is an SUV was filmed somewhat trolling the Lamborghini Aventador in a drag race at the Palm Beach International Raceway.

The guys at DragTimes made very clear their intention of setting a new record for the world's quickest SUV on the 1/4-mile distance, and despite having to cut short the X's recharging session, they managed to do just that.

The impressive and popular Ludicrous mode launched for the Model S is available in the Model X P90D, propelling the seven-seater from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds.

Bihar Floods: Death Toll Rises to 341, Over 7 Lakh Evacuated
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take stock of flood situation in Bihar on August 26. Army choppers, the NDRF and PAC (flood) jawans continued rescue operations.

However, the eagle-eyed will see that in the first race, the Lamborghini bogs down at the start and the Model X does not have a full charge.

Interestingly enough, Tesla's Model S got in on the racing action when it also went up against the Lamborghini Aventador, video of which can be seen below. The iconic manufacturer has cemented its place in history as one of the best supercar manufacturers on the planet and yet even one of its creations can end up being smoked by a Tesla Model X which doesn't even have an engine.

It's also worth noting that the DragTimes producers claim to have set the world record for the quickest-ever time set by an SUV in a quarter-mile race with the Model X - a blistering 11.418 seconds. While the Lambo almost catches the Tesla at the end of the race, its too late.
