Where others are satisfied with theory, we validate our data with real-life values, just like we did with the Chiron. In the video, Bugatti demonstrates just how quickly the Chiron can hustle onwards to roughly 365 km/h - in an indicated 25.5 seconds - before it pulls away from the camera chase vehicle, which one can safely assume is another Chiron. Once the driver hit the brakes, it took him another 9.3 seconds and 491 metres to come to a complete halt. The time was certified by testing, inspection and verification company SGS-TÜV Saar at Volkswagen Group's proving grounds in Ehra-Lessien, Germany. Former F1, IndyCar, and NASCAR ace Juan Pablo Montoya actually pulled it off, getting the full run in just 32.6 seconds and 1.43 miles. During full braking, the airbrake works with eight-piston, 420 mm-front disc and six-piston, 400 mm-rear disc brakes to generate 2 g of deceleration. Within less than a second, the car's rear axle found itself with almost a ton of extra downforce. "During full braking from 249 miles per hour, Bugatti says, the force on vehicle and driver is about 2 Gs".

Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer revealed in the press release that "300 of the limited series of 500 Chiron have already been sold".

The Chiron was so comfortable and composed during its record-setting runs that Montoya elected not to wear a helmet, fire-proof suit or HANS device.

United Nations human rights chief deplores India's move to deport Rohingyas
Despite decades of oppression in mainly Buddhist Myanmar, the predominantly Muslim Rohingya have largely refrained from violence. Some have called for the Nobel Peace Prize Suu Kyi won in 1991 as a champion of democracy to be revoked.

"It really was incredible to see that you didn't need the complex preparations we have to make in racing for the 0-400 drive", said Montoya. "Just get in and drive off. Incredible".

As far as top speed is concerned, Bugatti is aiming to set a new top speed record in 2018 that is higher than the 268mph figure recorded by the Chiron's predecessor - the Veyron Super Sport.

He added; "Of course, the Chiron is a super sports vehicle that requires your full attention when you are behind the wheel". When Montoya reached top speed, he smashed the brake pedal.
