The dichotomy exposes a potential divide inside the Democratic caucus as Trump tries to push tax reform as his next big-ticket initiative. And that Trump ignored his party's concerns and publicly aligned himself with Pelosi and Schumer-two GOP bogeymen-added insult to injury, particularly when the Republicans are still smarting from its failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Among the Republicans invited to tonight's dinner are Sens. John Thune of South Dakota, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania and Orrin Hatch of Utah were also scheduled to attend. "Just voting for a budget where the numbers are pretty much meaningless without tax reform and without the reconciliation instructions attached to them, I don't see a whole lot to be gained in doing that". Last week in North Dakota he said his administration "is working with Congress to develop a plan that will deliver more jobs, higher pay, lower taxes for businesses of all sizes and middle-class families".

A total of 90 Republicans voted against the measure, despite White House budget director Mick Mulvaney and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin urging the GOP to vote for the measure.

The president lumped McCaskill in the camp of "obstructionists" he said are thwarting his agenda.

But the loudest rumblings about the future of Ryan's leadership have been traced to the more conservative factions of the House-namely the right-wing Freedom Caucus and the Republican Study Committee. It wasn't too long ago when Trump was ripping "Lyin' Chuck;" now they're old NY buddies.

On Tuesday, the President's top legislative aide, Marc Short, told reporters that in order to approve such a DACA relief bill, the White House was not going to require that Congress include money for a wall along the Mexican border with that legislation. "We all have to agree to compromise", said State Rep. Joe Aresimowicz, Speaker of the House. He was confirmed, 54-45, with Heitkamp, Donnelly and Manchin the only three Democrats voting yes.

Florida sheriff urges residents not to shoot at Hurricane Irma
The first was over the Florida Keys, and the second, over Marco Island, left the island without water and power, authorities said. Indian-Americans in Atlanta and Georgia pooled in their resources to help several million people from Florida affected by Irma.

Joe Donnelly is among six senators, including three centrist Democrats, who will have a working dinner Tuesday at the White House with President Donald Trump to discuss possible revisions to the income tax code.

McCaskill was one of the 45 Democratic Senators to sign that letter.

But some Republicans fear the Democrats will be able to use their negotiating clout in early December to resist changes on key tax issues, especially the corporate tax rate, which Mr Trump wants to cut from 35 percent to 15 percent.

Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader.

But those two words - "tax reform" - mean much different things to Democrats and Republicans, just like the three word phrase, 'health care reform, ' making bipartisanship much more hard to formulate. Democrats who oppose a tax-reform bill that gets Democratic votes would be ripe 2018 campaign advertising targets in states won by Trump.

Mnuchin's outreach to the Senate on Tuesday would come after his muddled attempt last week to mollify outraged House conservatives over a deal Trump brokered with Democratic leaders to tie three-month extensions of government spending and the debt ceiling to hurricane relief funds. Especially since they want to be finished with tax reform before 2018 starts.
