Christians who support same-sex marriage have hit back at prominent "no" campaigner, Australian Christian Lobby managing director Lyle Shelton, over his comments that parents should have the right to send their kids to gay conversion therapy.

A national vote is getting underway this week in Australia.

Folau's views polarised the Twittersphere, including a stack of responses that criticised him over his stance after he became one of the first high-profile sportspeople to publicly voice his opposition against same-sex marriage.
