Linda Hamilton to return as Sarah Connor in new Terminator movie!

"Terminator" director James Cameron announced Tuesday his ex-wife Linda Hamilton would be reprising her role as Sarah Connor in the upcoming "Terminator 6" film.

Arnold Schwarzenegger said he would be back for another Terminator movie.

"We're starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story", Cameron said.

Schwarzenegger will also be returning, which he talked about at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, confirming, "I will be in the movie".

In 1984's low-budget original, Hamilton's Connor was a waitress targeted by Schwarzenegger's killer android from the future because her unborn son would one day lead a human resistance in an apocalyptic future brought about by machines.

It sounds like we could expect a time travel heavy Terminator movie, with at least part of it taking place in the time near the events of T2: Judgment Day.

Cameron crafted the story for this new film, and he and Miller are planning a new trilogy of Terminator movies that can serve as standalones or create an overarching story.

The word is that the new movie will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2, but of course, plot details are being kept under wraps.

Cameron recently made headlines taking shots at "Wonder Woman," making a comparison to Sarah Connor from his own films, inventing a girl-on-girl feud no one wanted. The announcement comes directly from legendary director James Cameron, who will also be producing it. Cameron left the franchise after Terminator 2 and the quality has obviously dipped since then.

Actually, the story will use characters of Arnold and Linda as a vehicle to pass the torch to a new generation - they will definitely be back! A release date has not yet been set for the film. It will reportedly act as a "passing of the baton" film to new characters.

Somehow, 2015's atrocious Terminator: Genisys didn't mark the end of Hollywood's efforts to keep the time-travelling series relevant. It appears that Hamilton's now-aged-up Sarah Connor could be an illustration of just that.
