Pochettino hails Alli as a key player for Spurs

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised Juan Foyth after the youngster made his debut for the club during its 1-0 Carabao Cup victory over Barnsley on Tuesday.

An ankle injury sustained in April cut short Winks' breakthrough season, which included 21 Premier League appearances as well as four in the Champions League.

"For many reasons we're so happy, there were many positives and it's good to be in the next round".

DELE ALLI scored the only goal at Wembley as Tottenham booked a place in the last 16. It was a flawless opportunity to really put everything behind me, just move on and start the season from now.

"I've been playing with a little bit of a niggle here and there".

"In the last week and a half, or two weeks, it started to get back to normal and I'm delighted with that, I really am". I got pulled out of the England U21 squad just to try and get it right.

Leicester City 2-0 Liverpool
Liverpool's defensive frailties have come to the fore this season after the club drew 3-3 with Watford in their league opener last month.

"I am so happy with him". I think he helped us by scoring today. "I know they are behind us and translate their support".

Barnsley played well during the game and up until the 60th minute, Spurs did not manage a shot at goal.

"I feel like I'm 100 per cent now", Winks said after the game.

This seemingly caused some concern to some onlookers and that includes Sugar, who stated on his personal Twitter account after the match that Tottenham need to wake up and at half time he also labelled the display as a "bloody joke".

Alli scored a 65th-minute victor to see Spurs past the Championship outfit 1-0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Wembley on Tuesday.

"It's just the size of the stadium". It's hard to really get that same atmosphere that you get at White Hart Lane or if you have a full stadium here. "But the fans are always excellent and for us they were brilliant in getting us over the line".
