Google wants to boost offline sales of the Pixel 2 duo in India, but with the phones starting at $950, it might be easier said than done.

The new earbuds - accompanied by Google's virtual "Assistant" - can act as your own personal translator.

Google's hardware head Rick Osterloh speaking about the acquisition said that while the team had earlier working closely with them to create the Pixel smartphone, and they are excited to see what they can do together as one team. They connect to your phone wirelessly, but the two earbuds are tethered together by a cloth-like cord.

The Pixel Buds design allows you to adjust the cable to make them fit more comfortably in your ear.

To enable the translation features, the users simply holds down a button on the right earbud to activate the Google Assistant.

Like Apple with the HomePod, Google is promising that its Max speaker will learn your musical tastes so it can become a digital DJ that automatically selects tunes that you'll enjoy. The report explains that the song recognise feature will work after you ask the question. On the Pixel 2 however, that option isn't available. The wireless earphones feature up to five hours of playback time per charge.

The Pixel Buds come with a case that's also used to charge them.

Apple's W1 chip makes pairing AirPods to an iPhone almost instantaneous, and it has held the connectivity advantage over traditional Bluetooth earphones - until the Pixel Buds arrived. Last week, Amazon announced the next generation of its Echo speaker, coming out in time for the holiday shopping season, will cost just $100, a price that Google decided not to match. We're sure that most of you guys are probably familiar with AA and AAA batteries which can be found in most stores and even convenience stores, but AAAA is less common.
