The most awaited trailer of Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer magnum opus 'Padmavati' Unveiled today, October 9th. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone will play the title role os Rani Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor will play Maharaval Ratan Singh, who was the king of Chittor Garh (fort) and her husband. Goes without saying that what story of Padmavati the film will show, has left some people curious and others furious. Deepika Padukone, who features in the titular role, looks to have done complete justice to her character with her regal elegance.

That is because 1303 AD was the year Chittorgarh was put to siege by Sultan Alauddin Khilji. However, this is Shahid Kapoor's first project with him.

The trailer of Padmavati showed Deepika Padukone as an elegant and fearless queen, Shahid Kapoor as a benevolent and courageous king.

Filmmaker Karan Johar says he is jealous of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ability to create a visually-appealing cinematic experience for the audiences through his films. The movie which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

The movie is slated for release on 1 December. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Sonu Sood and Danny Denzongpa.
