Radio host Delilah is taking some time off from her nationally syndicated program after the death of her son. She said he had been receiving treatment for his battle with depression.

Including her angels Zachariah and Sammy, Delilah is a mother to 13 children.

More than 110,000 people have commented and almost 45,000 have shared the social media post. "I'll look forward to my return, as you all lift me up so very much!" She previously lost another child, Sammy Rene, to sickle cell anemia in 2012.

The "Love Someone Today" author shared details on the daunting medical treatments her late son, Samuel Young Dzolali Rene, endured in the days prior to his tragic passing. "But I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord and that God will get us through..."

'My son Sammy passed from this world today into heaven, but he left behind a piece of his wonderful soul in all that met him.

Delilah announced over the weekend that she is taking a break from radio and social media to "grieve and try to process this loss". She added that everyone who got the chance of meeting her son was blessed with his big heart.

This isn't the first time the beloved radio host has faced tragedy involving one of her children.

"I jumped out of the frying pan into the fire and at 28 I was married for less than two months to a man who turned out to be a cocaine and heroine user", she said. She did not say when she might return.

In a January Facebook post, Delilah revealed that he was autistic, reports the New York Daily News. Featuring a mix of call-in requests and love songs, she can be heard nightly on dozens of iHeartMedia stations across the USA, including several in Upstate New York like Y94FM in Syracuse, Sunny 102.3 in Rochester, and Mix 103.3 in Vestal.
