Assassin's Creed: Origins season pass and future free DLCs are revealed

The release of Assassin's Creed Origins is upon us, and Ubisoft has outlined their plans for what players can expect from both the season pass, and for free, some time after launch.

Origins' Gold Edition and Steelbook Edition contain the season pass for no extra cost, though numerous game's other special editions do not include all added content.

Assassin's Creed Origins: Desert Oath begins in the year 70 BCE when Bayek is just fifteen years old in the town of Siwa. It takes players years after the events of the title as they take on an occupying Roman force in a new region. Before that, lead character Bayek will find himself taking on the Romans in the DLC episode The Hidden Ones, which will serve as somewhat of a epilogue to the main game.

The Curse of the Pharaohs: This story-driven expansion focuses on Egyptian mythology. This expansion releases in March.

Nomad's Bazaar: At launch, a wandering merchant gives players daily quests to complete to earn mysterious, exotic rewards. According to Ubisoft, the first Trial of the Gods event will be available a few weeks after launch. You'll also get a delivery of pictures taken in the game's Photo Mode, which you can add to your map. But like most games these days, Origins wants to keep us playing well after the initial launch.

Assassin's Creed Origins may not be a competitive multiplayer game and therefore "pay to win" isn't a problem, but fans are concerned that this means that the game will be engineered to grind. In addition to that, we'll also see two add-on packs, some in-game currency, and a rare weapon for download.

The current release date is October 27, 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation4 and Xbox One.
