Now Snapchat wants to share more info about that location - like how far away it is, or what kind of food served there - with other users on the app. It will also factor in more personalized features, like which ride-haling app you use (if you don't have Uber installed, Snapchat will show links to Lyft). For example, someone may send you a picture of a plate of food they're now devouring, and add a geofilter to the image detailing where exactly they are.

These include Snaps tagged with the white, venue-specific, geofilters or that have been submitted to the firm's public "our story" collections, which appear in snap map or search.

If you're friend posts a pic of some taco noshing, you can click the geotag and, if the restaurant has a Context Card, get information on the spot: its hours, reviews, phone number and location.

For launch, context cards will be available in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on both Android and iOS.

The Context Cards displayed vary depending on the type of venue and the details available about the location. Launching today is a new feature called "Context Cards", which will offer extra information on the Snaps that you look at.

At launch, Context Cards will be available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, on both iOS and Android versions of the Snapchat app.

The first card will contain basic information like the name of a place, the category of the venue (say restaurant or store) and ratings.
