Danny Rose and Erik Lamela return to Tottenham first-team training

United boss Jose Mourinho has already identified Rose as one of his main targets and is confident of landing the England star in a £45m deal.

Rose has yet to play this season as he continues to recover from serious injury but reports are rife suggesting the left-back could be heading for the exit door when the January transfer window opens.

Starsport can reveal Rose has set his heart on leaving Tottenham for Old Trafford ahead of the World Cup in Russian Federation.

The left-back voiced his concern at Tottenham's refusal to pay big wages earlier this summer, and admitted he was keen on a move to the North.

Left-sided full-back Rose, 27, has been sidelined since late January with a knee injury.

Saudi Arabia trimmed crude supplies to its biggest buyers in Asia, sources told Reuters, a sign it is meeting its cut commitment. Saudi Arabia and Russian Federation , he said, are leading the initiative to bring in more producers.

Rose, who apologised during the summer after his "ill-judged" comments on Tottenham's transfer policy, wage structure and his own future, could presumably be in a position to play again later this month, although Pochettino has been reluctant to attach a specific time frame to his recovery.

Rose is contracted at the club until 2021 but is looking increasingly likely to leave.

The likes of Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind have all filled in at left-back.

Rose and Lamela are still some way off from featuring for the first-team due to the extent of their rehabilitation programmes, but Tottenham fans will be buoyed to see two key players finally get off the treatment table.

Rose, 27, is nearly certain to be included in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad provided he remains fit for the rest of the season.
