Two new Mazda concepts headed to Tokyo Motor Show

It is believed that one of the concepts that Mazda will be showing off at the event will be the base design for the upcoming Mazda 3 model.

Mazda will also show a four-door design study previewing its future design direction at Tokyo.

The Product Concept #1 also features Mazda's new SKYACTIV-X engine system, which journalists have recently sampled in prototype form in the current Mazda3.

Although Mazda is not declaring the hatchback concept as a preview of the Mazda3 using those words, the company is confirming that a production version of this concept will happen. It appears to be a sleek sedan with a long hood and short rear overhangs.

Giants suspend Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie after he shows up, then leaves
After the Giants demoted Eli Apple for Rodgers-Cromartie last Sunday, Apple wasn't happy and said he was a scapegoat. If the Giants cut him, he would carry $2 million in dead cap space for 2018, a savings of $6.5 million.

Speaking of Kodo, don't expect the new Mazda style to change things up too drastically, as the Japanese automaker says that the new concept will display "a more profound expression" of Kodo rather than replacing it with something completely different.

The brand's Skyactiv-X powertrain is a main focus of its Tokyo motor show effort this year, with the as-yet-unnamed concept precursor to the next 3 being built on Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture.

"Our stand this year marks the beginning of a new era for Mazda".

Mazda will give us an early look at the next-generation Mazda3 at the upcoming Tokyo show with a new hatchback concept, seen here in the first official teaser images. However, the engines SkyActive-X, as before will be equipped with spark plugs, they will be used under heavy loads.
