British IS recruiter dubbed White Widow `killed in U.S. drone strike´

Britain on Thursday refused to confirm reports that a U.S. drone had killed a middle-aged British mother, also known as the "white widow,", who had joined Islamic State jihadists in Syria.

According to The Sun, the government was informed by Central Intelligence Agency chiefs in June that USA forces had killed Jones in a missile strike close to the Iraq/Syria border.

According to the report, USA intelligence officials said they could not be absolutely certain Jones was killed in the drone strike, because there was no effort to recover her DNA, but were "confident" that she is dead. There have been several such claims of IS militants having been killed only for them to resurface months later.

This is the moment two LBC callers were involved in a furious row over the drone killing of British ISIS recruiter Sally Jones. Hussain is one of the suspects in the beheading of USA journalist James Foley, but was killed in 2015 by a U.S. drone strike. In the 90's, she played in the all-woman band Krunch.

The 50-year-old used her Twitter account to recruit women and shared pictures of herself with weapons.

Last Friday, Moroe had insisted that the tournament would go ahead as planned. "We will start on November 3 as promised". However, after lots of questions arose about the tournament, pressure mounted on the former CEO.

"In one propaganda post, she posed as a nun with a gun and spoke of her wish to behead Christians with a "nice blunt knife", The Sun reports. "Come here I'll do it for you".

"She added: "(Jones) was crying and wants to get back to Britain but ISIS is preventing her because she is now a military wife. I wouldn't go into central London through June or July.

Former Ministry of Defence head of counter terror Major General Chip Chapman said Jones' alliance with Hussain and her recruitment role would have made her a "significant" target.

Jones has used her son-who has previously appeared in an ISIS execution video-as a human shield in the past, prompting speculation that he may have been killed in the drone strike. "We don't know for sure whether he was with her or not".
