But three women, said to be Chinese, got into a spot of bother this week after travelling to South Korea to have plastic surgery.

The women - wrapped chin-to-dome in bandages - were barred from boarding a flight home at an airport in South Korea, detained and grilled by immigration officers.

In the picture - which appears to have been removed from her account, but not before going viral - the women sit, passports in hand, faces swollen from the surgery and heavily bandaged.

According to Jian, the women were detained by security after being unable to prove their identity.

It is unknown whether the women have since returned to China. The picture was liked more than 51,000 times and shared more than 23,000 times. It is not known what proportion is for plastic surgery. Almost half of women in Seoul under the age of 30 are estimated to use plastic surgeries to enhance their facial features.

South Korea is being recognized as the plastic surgery capital of the world and is regarded as "natural and harmless". Apart from this, breast augmentation surgery is also very popular.
