Facebook officially launches its 'Order Food' app across US

Now users will be able to use the Facebook app to order delivery food.

Facebook on Friday announced a new feature to make it easier for users to order meals from nearby restaurants and service providers without leaving the social network. This isn't ideal for Facebook, as the company wants you constant attention.

Facebook began testing the feature past year but is now ready for a wide USA release on iOS, Android, and desktop.

ZTE Nubia Z17S and Z17 miniS with four cameras launched in China
At the back, the device comes with a 13MP Monochrome Sony IMX258 sensor and a 13MP RGB sensor with OIS and f/2.2 aperture. The Nubia Z17 miniS will be available in Black Gold and Deep Blue colors and is priced at CNY 1,999.

What's more, you'd still have to log in to any accounts you already have with a delivery service.

Customers can order take-out or delivery from restaurants including Jack in the Box, Panera, and Five Guys. Rather than interrupt your stalking marathon, simply head on over to a restaurant's Facebook page and click "start order", so you can nourish yourself as you wade deep into the dark early 2000s recesses of your old track teammate's profile. "First you need to decide what to eat, then you have to sift through a bunch of options and services", according to a post by Facebook executive Alex Himel on Friday. Now the firm is adding food delivery services to their remit, working with local companies, to enable food delivery and pick up much like apps like UberEats, JustEat and HungryHouse already do globally. Though Amazon might not be making money on the food orders, its delivery service surely helps with valuable user data, notes Bloomberg. It lets you browse available restaurant options and choose which of the available delivery services you'd like to have bring it to you; you can filter by location, delivery versus pickup, price range, cuisine, and whether or not the restaurant is open. Previously, this feature was only available to select users.
