Moroccan fans have set up riots in the center of Brussels, Belgium, after Morocco defeated Côte d'Ivoire 2-0 in the qualifying round for the next World Cup in Russia, AFP reported.

In the 1978 edition there was Tunisia, in the 1982 World Cup there were Algeria and Kuwait and in the 1986 tournament there were Iraq, Algeria and Morocco.

The Atlas Lions went into the match in Abidjan just needing a draw to consolidate their place as pacesetters in the final group match, but they went one better in what was an assured display.

Morocco and Tunisia now join Nigeria, Senegal and Egypt as Africa's representatives at next year's FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

Dirar's in-swinging cross beat everyone and found the corner of the net in the 25th minute.

Led by coach Hervé Renard, the Moroccan squad maintained an upbeat performance completing the qualifications without conceding a single goal making it to the World Cup since their last appearance in 1998.

Tunisia's point ensures their fifth World Cup participation - and their first since 2006 - but ensures that the Democratic Republic of Congo's wait to return to the global showpiece for the first time since 1974 will continue.

Tunisia also only needed a draw to pip DR Congo - who began the day three points adrift - to top spot in Group A and they duly accomplished that with a 0-0 stalemate at home to Libya.

Guinea levelled the contest in the 71st minute through Karamokoba Keita, but two goals in stoppage time - Neeskens Kebano's strike and a Jonathan Bolingi penalty - secured a 3-1 victory for the hosts.
