The apartment complex in Denton, Texas is sealed off after a floor collapsed at a college party.

"The Ridge is a private facility in the City of Denton, and any information regarding the incident would need to come from either the property owner or operator, and the City of Denton PIO", a University of North Texas spokesperson said.

A number of residents from a Denton student apartment complex have been displaced after the floor of a third-story unit collapsed during a party Saturday night.

"Immediately the water pipes were busted and water was coming from all over the place", Keys told the newspaper.

Carley Carroll, a second-year student who lives directly below the unit where the party was being held, says she wasn't home when the accident happened, but says she lost everything.

Until the building and its sprinkler system are repaired, the utilities will remain shut off, Denton Fire Department Battalion Chief Brian Glenn said. Police say there were no serious injuries and no one needed to go to the hospital.

"We've called and said, 'It looks like the ceiling is going to cave in, ' so I feel like with us saying that, there could've been more that was done", she said.

Denton Police told FOX 4 they have received previous noise complaints, but people have mostly left the party by the time officers arrive.

"In the process of making alternate housing arrangements for those students, a local university offered help as well to provide alternate arrangements".
