Nintendo Switch version of the game misses out on some of the improvements to the resolution but has its own exclusive features like touch screen support and HD rumble. (It is making a comeback next year.) With the SNES Classic launch, Nintendo has both increased its supply and promised to keep selling the console into 2018.

Switch was the top selling video game hardware in October in the United States, according to the NPD Group, which tracks sales in the country, Nintendo announced. "The U.S. video game industry achieved hardware sales of more than one million total units in October for the first time since 2011".

At the other extreme, a small fraction of the population (just 0.5 per cent of adults) has a net worth over $ 100,000. There were 2.3 new millionaires created in 2017, bringing the total to 36 million millionaires worldwide.

Nintendo also noted in today's press release that Super Mario Odyssey was the top-selling game of the month in the US even though it launched on October 27th. It's worth remembering that it released right at the end of the month; in just four days on sale, it pulled bigger numbers than anything else released that month. In addition, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fared well on the charts as well, with 10 and 11 place spots - fairly reasonable considering that the games have been out for a few months.
