According to the parents, she narrated her ordeal that took place during the school hours, saying a boy of her class opened her trousers and put his finger inside her private parts. But, the girl started crying profusely at night and told her mother that her classmate had assaulted her using a pencil and his finger after unbuttoning her trousers in an empty classroom. "When she returned home, she kept drawing my attention to her pain and injury to her private parts".

According to the FIR, the parents have accused the school management of negligence and have also alleged that the principal, a teacher and a coordinator offered no help after learning of the incident. Her mother says she's now scarred for life and school would be a torture for her. According to the complaint, the girl had complained of pain in her private parts after returning from school on Friday.

The Delhi Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the boy after the girl's mother lodged a complaint.

The mother of the girl has also alleged inaction by school authorities, she had complained to a schoolteacher via a "text messages" regarding the incident and the school reportedly did not assist the family. She then told her parents of the assault.

The police is now in dilemma of how to proceed with the case since the suspect is a 4-year-old minor.

Dependra Pathak, the Delhi Police chief spokesperson, said, "The Indian Penal Code provides children below seven years of age certain protections against prosecutions". She told her mother that a boy from her class unbuttoned her trousers in the classroom and used his finger to assault her.

"She tried pushing him, but could not get away as other children had left and there was no staff around", the mother stated in the first information report (FIR). She informed the school again on Saturday, but the authorities allegedly did not cooperate with her and instead asked her to give a written complaint on Monday. We are also looking for CCTV footage or if anything was captured.
