The Indian handset company has also tied up with Vodafone to offer 50 GB of free data with Bharat 5. In competitive space, the phones have been launched in, the Redmi 5A takes the lead with its pricing strategy.

Micromax has launched another affordable 4G VoLTE smartphone in the Indian market called the Bharat 5.

Micromax Bharat 5 is the device we are talking about.

On the optics front, the Nokia 2, as well as the Bharat 5, come with cameras that on paper at least fail to excite. The Bharat 5 comes with a tagline of "The Power Of 5". The Bharat 5 smartphone packs a 5MP camera on both front and back with LED flash.

At launch, the Micromax Bharat 5 runs Android 7.0 Nougat. Under its hood, the smartphone features a quad-core processor of an unspecified chipset that is teamed up with 1GB RAM and 16GB default storage space that can be further expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. The Micromax Bharat 5 has a price tag of Rs. 5555 which makes it cheaper than the Nokia 2 which retails at Rs. 6999 and expensive than the Redmi 5A which will be priced at Rs. 4999 for the first five million buyers.The USP of the Micromax Bharat 5 is its abnormally large 5000mAh battery. On the front you get the same 5MP sensor with LED flash.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD display with a 1280 x 720 resolution. The Bharat 5 is its most premium budget phone yet, and the company will compete against the Redmi 5A for the entry-level segment.

Besides adding the number 5 in the name, Micromax has smartly chosen the features to align with its marketing strategy. The phone is similar in design to its predecessors - Bharat 3 and 4.

Xiaomi has launched Redmi 5A at a price starting from Rs 4,999 for 2GB/16GB variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB/32GB version.

This phone runs on Android (Nougat) OS and offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, FM and Global Positioning System.
