Rob Gronkowski posts his best game of the season in Week 13

Rob Gronkowski lost his cool late in the New England Patriots' game against the Bills on Sunday in Buffalo, a lapse of control for which he was repentent afterward.

That watermelon Gronk is trying to Gallagher with his elbow belongs to rookie Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White, who'd intercepted a Tom Brady pass intended for the tight end. White was tackled and lying prone on the ground when Gronk took a few steps to gain momentum, then speared White in the back. Gronkowski was flagged for unnecessary roughness.

"That's just dirty football", Bills safety Micah Hyde said. In fact, Bills linebacker Jerry Hughes was given a 15-yard penalty after the down for comments he made toward an official.

The Patriots won the game 23-3 and host the Bills again December 24 at Gillette Stadium. If New England holds on, they would improve to 10-2 on the season.

Gronkowski told reporters after the game that he wanted to apologize to White for the hit.

Penn State, Washington to meet in Fiesta Bowl
The Nittany Lions most recently played in the game back in 1997, when Penn State beat Texas 38-15. Their last meeting was in the 1983 Aloha Bowl in Hawaii, where Penn State won 13-10.

After the play was over, Gronkowski landed a blow to White that the referees ruled as unnecessary roughness. I don't really believe in type shots like that.

"I want to apologize to No. 27", Gronkowski said.

As for any possible discipline, Belichick said this, via NBC Sports Boston's Phil Perry: "I didn't really see what happened on the whole play". White was making a lot of contact with the tight end, but wasn't flagged for holding or pass interference. "Couple times in the game". I mean, like what am I supposed to do? And then they don't call that? It just happened natuually through emotions and frustration. "I just got no explanation".

Gronkowski criticized the officiating during the play, sounding off about the "craziest stuff ever".
