The Sooners are scheduled to play Georgia at the Rose Bowl on January 1, in the College Football Playoff Semifinal game. He is scheduled to appear in court December 18 for the restraining order hearing.

The University of Oklahoma has not yet issued any further statement other than to say they are looking into this. As of now, Anderson is still a member of the team.

According to the Oklahoma City Oklahoman and several other local and national media outlets, a protective order was filed on Monday in Cleveland County District Court against Anderson, who is being accused of raping a 23-year old woman. The plan was for her to take an Uber home, but "Rodney's friends insisted that he take me home".

Anderson, who is from Katy, Texas, has become a key force on the OU offense in the second half of this season, rushing for 960 yards and 11 touchdowns, plus 283 receiving yards and five touchdowns. While discussing the events of the night with a friend weeks later, she was "recalling images and feelings of him forcing his fingers" inside her, the court filing says.

"He followed me asking what I thought I was doing", the woman wrote in the petition.

In the statement, Chance said the woman filed the protective order after she had attempted to pursue a relationship with Anderson and Anderson "declined several social invitations" from the woman.

"Mr. Anderson first learned of [the woman's] request for a civil protective order late yesterday evening", attorney Derek Chance said in the statement.

OU Athletics said they are aware of the situation and gathering information.

"The university takes seriously all allegations of misconduct and is continuing to collect information in this matter", the school said in a statement. Oklahoma plays Georgia in a national semifinal on January 1.

Anderson sustained back-to-back season-ending injuries in 2015 and 2016 but broke out with a 147-yard rushing performance at Kansas State on October 21. Mixon is now with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals.
