John Mayer Rushed to the Hospital for Emergency Appendectomy

John Mayer had to undergo an emergency appendectomy in New Orleans on Tuesday (December 5), representatives said.

Singer-songwriter John Mayer has been taken to hospital to undergo an emergency appendectomy, which has left his band Dead & Company to cancel one of their U.S. shows.

An appendectomy is the surgical removal of the appendix and is often performed as an emergency procedure when the patient is suffering from appendicitis.

John and his band had a show scheduled for tonight in NOLA, but according to TMZ, the original tickets will be honored at a new date. Should ticketholders choose to seek a refund, they will be available at the point of purchase.

Mayer has been on tour with Dead and Company.
