The smartphone manufacturer may launch the phones - all the three together - either at CES - which is to take place next week or at MWC in Feb. Note that the company is yet to officially confirm the launch date of these devices. From the pictures below, it's painfully obvious that Sony considers the XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 previous generation devices.

As far as the Sony Xperia L2 is concerned, it will be a more budget-centric device with a 5.2-inch HD display that will also have a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. However, it has been reported that Sony plans to announce these phones at CES later this month. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Ultra and Sony Xperia L2 will don a new look that's still uniquely Sony, all while potentially addressing some points in need of much love.

These are the Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2

The upcoming XA2 is rumored to boost its screen size from five inches to 5.2-inches while maintaining its 1080p screen resolution. The XA2 will arrive with a 21-megapixel, 4K capable camera on the back, along with a 7-megapixel front-facing snapper and the XA2 Ultra will get the same rear camera, but will have dual-15-megapixel front-facing cameras, which ties in with the recent rumour. And both will pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630, a transition away from the MediaTek processors in last year's mid-range Xperia phones. Apart from that, the Xperia XA2 is expected to be available in a 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage configuration, and the Xperia XA2 Ultra is also expected to have a 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. However, the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra (pictured top and below), and L2, as they'll be known, may also be held for a February debut at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, as they have been in past years. The handset is expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo on board out of the box, and there will be a 21MP camera on back capable of recording 4K video. That's an upgrade from the Sony Xperia XA1's 5-inch 720p display.
