Acer just unveiled the thinnest laptop in the world

The device is only 8.89 mm thin which makes it the world's thinnest laptop.

That Intel processor is the 7th rather than 8th generation, too, which seems an oddity when considering the Swift 7's £1,599 starting price. The display, a 1080p panel, has been downsized from 15.6 inches to 14 inches, and Acer says you can likely expect up to 12 hours of battery life out of the machine. The Acer Swift 7 comes loaded with Microsoft Windows 10.

Acer has also announced its refreshed Spin 3 (SP314-51) laptop.

On the display front, it features a 13.5-inch IPS display with 2256 x 1504 resolution and supports Windows Ink powered by Wacom EMR technology.

With Australian pricing and availability yet to be confirmed, the device will retail from US$1,699 in the States, with a March roll out anticipated. The lightning-fast speeds of DDR4 RAM of up to 32 GB combined with the SSD means fast booting, loading and restarting in mere seconds so players can get to the action immediately. The bundled battery is good enough to keep the device running for nearly ten hours. Acer didn't provide a battery life expectation, so don't expect anything unbelievable. In addition, it also supports 4G LTE network connectivity. The WASD keys can be outlined with brighter backlighting and CPU and GPU temps can be monitored with NitroSense software though, so there's that (heh).

The large trackpad remains as high-end in appearance and feel as last year's model, while the shallow press keyboard has been upgraded to include a backlight (something that lacked from the previous model). LG's new 14-inch Gram weighs just 2.16 pounds. Connectivity wise it include two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, eight USB 3.1 ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. That is considering many laptops nowadays sport much better Intel processors, more RAM and storage space, as well as higher resolution touch screens, at an even better price point. There's a touch (CB311-8HT) and non-touch (CB311-8h) version, with both supporting Android apps via the Google Play Store. The new Spin 3 will be reaching U.S. in February starting at $599 and in EMEA countries this month itself.

The company has also revamped its Spin 3 laptop (from US$599).

Apart from the major new announcements, Acer revealed that it is set to sell the Acer Switch 7 Black Edition (SW713-51) in the USA at a starting price of $1,699 (approximately Rs. 1,07,500) later this month.
