CES 2018: Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra And L2 Launched

The Xperia XA2 will be available in pink, blue, silver and black, while the Xperia XA2 Ultra will be available in gold, blue, black, and silver; the Xperia L2 will come in pink, black, and gold.

Sony's Xperia XA-series also marks the company's first set of phones to come with rear-facing fingerprint scanner.

A rep for Sony made it sound like this will be a turning point for the Xperia line and that fingerprint sensors will stop being disabled in the United States from here on out. As for the last few years Sony Mobile smartphones that have made their way to the U.S. have not come with working fingerprint sensors. All phones have USB Type-C port for charging, "loop surface" design, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and 3.5mm headphone jack. While this in itself is not confirmation that the likes of Sony's upcoming flagship Xperia XZ devices (currently rumored for an MWC 2018 announcement) will come with an active fingerprint sensor - they most likely will. You can also log in to Facebook and Twitter and follow the updates on Sony's official page too.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra has 8-megapixel 120-degree super wide-angle dual front cameras, both of which have front-firing flash.

Two planes collide at Toronto airport, passengers safe
Two airliners collided on the tarmac of Toronto's Pearson International Airport on Saturday morning, causing a small fire. A PASSENGER plane was evacuated after bursting into flames in a crash with another jet at an airport in Canada.

The screen is a 5.2-inch Full HD display, covered with Corning Gorilla Glass. There's a 120° super wide-angle 8MP camera up front, so you can fit more of your friends and surroundings into selfies. There's no word on what it'll be priced when it's released, but do know that it's anticipated to land sometime in sometime in February in colors like silver, black, blue, and pink.

Xperia XA2 Ultra has a 6-inch Full HD smartphone display with support for a wide accurate colour gamut, and a similar "borderless" design. That's not enough selfie prowess for the Ultra, though - it also has a 16MP shooter with less extreme FOV, 16:9 aspect, autofocus, and OIS. In fact, one new smartphone model, the Xperia XA2 Ultra, features a 23-megapixel rear camera along with dual front-facing cameras. The Xperia L2 is launching with a MediaTek MT6735P, a less impressive camera module, and 3GBs of RAM. Powering the XA2 is a 3,300mAh battery which 1,000mAh more than last year's Xperia XA1.

Both the XA2 and XA2 Ultra will have the Snapdragon 630 processor and have a 23-megapixel rear camera as mentioned. "We're targeting 2018 as a breakthrough year, and look forward to showcasing further innovations across the entire Xperia portfolio over the coming months", Hideyuki Furumi, EVP of Sony's global sales & marketing, said in a statement. Quick Charge is supported by both new phones, for a nippy recharge. Also launching in the US, it is available in Black, Gold, and Pink.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra boasts a familiar Sony design, which isn't the most exciting out there, but it is at least functional.
