John Dorsey adds two to Browns front office

General manager John Dorsey has added Packers director of football operations Eliot Wolf as his assistant general manager the team confirmed to 92.3 The Fan Wednesday.

Wolf's move to Cleveland comes in the wake of the Packers naming Brian Gutekunst as their next general manager to replace Ted Thompson. Wolf will be assistant general manager with the Browns after 14 seasons with the Packers, and Highsmith has been named vice president of player personnel after 19 years with the Packers. "His time under the direction of former Packers general managers Ron Wolf and Ted Thompson will undoubtedly serve him well as we work toward our next Super Bowl championship..." The other two were vice president of football administration Russ Ball and director of football operations Eliot Wolf. He chose to take the position with the Browns over offers from the Packers and Oakland Raiders for similar positions. And it possesses plenty of Green Bay flavor.

"I was a little bit surprised that Eliot Wolf didn't get the job", he said. Alonzo Highsmith, a former senior personnel executive with Green Bay, accepted a job with Cleveland last week, but his official title remains unclear.

Sanchez committed when he plays for Arsenal - Wenger
You know why, because it doesn't matter how long on my contract I have to go if I play the next game for Arsenal. And speaking after the game, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was pleased with his side's determination.

But the son of Hall of Fame executive Ron Wolf is instead joining the Browns, still crawling from the wreckage of a 0-16 season while preparing for a draft in which they'll have the No. 1 overall pick and four in the top 35. He was the highest-ranking executive with a scouting background in the previous regime led by Sashi Brown, who was sacked December 7 and immediately replaced by Dorsey. "It's great to reunite with John Dorsey". After serving as a scouting intern for the Packers in 1997 and a scouting assistant for the Kansas City Chiefs one year later, he was hired by Green Bay and has been with the team ever since. He is someone I've looked up to and has always been a mentor to me. Grigson, Berry's former boss with the Colts, was added by the Browns' non-traditional front office last spring. "I'm grateful to have the opportunity to be part of something special". He worked for the team until 2012.

The Browns also said Ken Kovash, a vice president of player personnel the past two seasons, will transition to a role in the club's strategy department under Paul DePodesta.

Highsmith served as a senior personnel executive for the Packers.
