Seth Meyers Slams Harvey Weinstein in Golden Globes Opening Monologue 2018

Page Six previously reported that actress Rosanna Arquette, one of the many stars who have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct and harassment, posted on Facebook: "It is Very unusual, that Harvey Weinstein is at the very same hotel in Beverly Hills that the golden globe press is being done at".

"Harvey Weinstein isn't here tonight, because, well, I've heard rumors that he's insane and hard to work with", Meyers said. And Oprah, while I have you, in 2011 I told some jokes about our current president at the White House Correspondents' Dinner - jokes about how he was unqualified to be president - and some have said that night convinced him to run.

I watched the Golden Globe Awards Sunday night, against my better judgment.

Hosting the first awards show of 2018, Meyers had a daunting task ahead of him.

Seth Meyers came out guns blazing to open the 2018 Golden Globes.

TCL Debuts Alto Roku Smart Sound Bar
We recently learned that streaming company Roku is looking to branch out from TVs, and transition to smart assistants and systems. Today at CES, Roku offered a preview of the soundbar that it's plainly branding as the TCL Roku Smart Soundbar.

From his very first introduction, Meyers immediately addressed the elephant in the room - sexual harassment in Hollywood and the fallout that's been rocking the industry since the Harvey Weinstein scandal began. At times eliciting uncomfortable groans, Meyers brought up Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump, Kevin Spacey, and Woody Allen. After a red carpet hour (plus) in which supportive actors of both sexes explained why they were wearing black in solidarity with the Time's Up initiative and the #MeToo movement, Meyers reminded the audience exactly why Hollywood has become ground zero for combatting workplace sexual harassment.

'Remember when he was the guy making trouble with North Korea. Mr Spacey was replace with Christopher Plummer, and Seth Meyers said another season of House Of Cards with Mr Plummer sounds great!

"When I first heard about a film where a naive young woman falls in love with a disgusting sea monster, I thought, 'Oh man, not another Woody Allen movie, '" Meyers said.

"Billy Eichner, who is openly gay, got the privilege of wrapping this joke: "'Call Me By Your Name" is nominated for Best Motion Picture. Hong Chau of Downsizing then joked, "But those numbers may be off since a white man did the math". This isn't merely a fashion trend, however-it's a powerful statement against a toxic dark side of Hollywood's culture. "They tried to get a woman to host the show which will be judged by some of the most powerful men in Hollywood and they were like 'hmm, well where is it?' They said it's in a hotel and long story short, I'm your host tonight", he added. Meyers then remarked that the Golden Globes are Trump's worst nightmare, combining his least favorite things on earth: the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
