Trump optimistic about 'good talks' with North Korea

United States President Donald Trump has claimed that he "probably" has a good relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as he is flexible when it comes to friendship. "I'm a very flexible person".

"At the same time, if we can come up with a very peaceful and very good solution, we're working on it", Trump added.

The paper reported that Trump did not give any inkling if the two bitter rivals have had established any contacts as of yet.

North Korea has become Trump's most urgent foreign crisis, as he struggles to contain the regime's rapidly advancing nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.

"I believe, Mr. Kim Jong Un has certainly won this round", Putin said, according to the Kremlin-financed news outlet RT.

CNN quoted Trump as saying: "I don't want to comment on it. I want to show my gratitude", Moon told reporters at a news conference, Reuters reported.

Also, North Korea re-opened the suspended inter-Korean communication hotline with South Korea, after it was closed down in February 2016.

"We have been much tougher on China, but not almost as tough as I would be, but they are helping us a lot with North Korea, he said in response to a question".

It suggested a date of 15 January for a meeting with the South's three-member delegation led by vice minister Chun Hae-sung, to discuss the North's participation, the ministry said in a statement.

Putin added that the ultimate goal of denuclearlization could to be reached "if all the participants of the talks, including North Koreans, will be assured that their safety is possible without nuclear weapons".
