Lunar New Year to Begin February 8th

Blizzard made the announcement last night through their official Overwatch Twitter account.

This year's Lunar New Year is ushering in the Year of the Dog, and Blizzard have confirmed that the occasion will once again be celebrated in Overwatch, after it was first marked by an in-game event in 2017.

The Lunar New Year event will feature new cosmetic items, while the capture the flag mode will take place on a brand new map.

Last year's lunar event starred Mei and ran from January 24 through February 13.

Far Cry 5 Season Pass Revealed
Far Cry 3 extras aside, the Season Pass for Far Cry 5 looks to be an ambitious one for Ubisoft in terms of where it takes players. The season pass for Far Cry 5 includes three different side stories all appearing to be based on popular films from the 1980s.

Unfortunately exact details on the cosmetic items and map are now under wraps, though seeing as its Year of the Dog we can expect some dog-related skins, perhaps?

Last year's Year of the Rooster event introduced a unique - and fun - event for Overwatch fans to enjoy.

And if it's anything like previous Overwatch events, returning skins will be available at a cheaper price. Last year saw several characters receive looks inspired by the classic tale Journey to the West, alongside skins based around the Lunar New Year event in general.

If you don't find any in loot boxes, you can also purchase the items directly by visiting the Hero Gallery.
