"The Snow Futurecast shows the heavier snow totals Friday to the south (9-10" at the IN border) and lower totals to the north (2" from Fremont to the north).

The same storm system has killed several people in accidents in the Midwest since Monday, including six in Iowa, two in Missouri and one in Montana, local media in those states reported.

Although temperatures warm up a bit today to the 30's and 40's in central Montana, another winter storm is looming on the horizon.

About 6-10 inches of snow is expected for a wide swath of New Hampshire, with some isolated spots north of 12 inches possible.

Our area is right on the line between snow and ice as the storm picks up, but forecasts warn some areas will see a half of a foot, while others will get 3 inches and yet others will be dealing with ice and rain. It should taper off later Wednesday night.

Travel could become almost impossible at times due to the amount of snow coming down, along with the potential for icing farther west near I-15.

Drivers should be prepared for extreme winter driving conditions with snow and ice coating most roads.
