Pornhub and Twitter are banning 'deepfake' face-swap porn videos

So far, deepfakes has posted hardcore porn videos featuring the faces of Scarlett Johansson, Maisie Williams, Taylor Swift, Aubrey Plaza, and Gal Gadot on Reddit, multimedia publication Motherboard reported.

The videos have been flooding a seedy Reddit forum for the past few weeks, nearly always hosted by a San Francisco-based clip site called Gfycat.

Pornhub is no longer hosting the fake porn videos on its website. But the company is drawing the line on pornographic videos that show people who didn't agree to be in them. That site puts deepfakes in the same category as revenge porn.

Reddit had become one of the most popular places to share and discuss so-called deepfake videos.

The disturbing videos look strikingly real as a result of a sophisticated machine learning algorithm, which uses photographs to create human masks that are then overlaid on top of adult film footage.

Reddit updated its rules to ban both "depictions that have been faked" as well as the posting of images "for the specific goal of faking explicit content or soliciting "lookalike" pornography".

Reddit strives to be a welcoming, open platform for all by trusting our users to maintain an environment that cultivates genuine conversation.

Following Twitter, Discord, Imgur and Pornhub, Reddit has taken action to ban the posting of AI-generated fake porn - commonly called "deepfakes".

Ozzy Osbourne Announces His First Legs Of Final Tour
Ozzy, who is aptly nicknamed "Prince of Darkness", said that it's time to focus on his family after 50 years on the road. To put it simply, "I feel like a mouse on a wheel going around in circles". "I can fly back and forth, you know".

Now Pornhub and Twitter have both joined the fight back. The practice is obviously done without the celebrity's consent, leading many opponents of the videos to classify them in the same league as revenge porn. "We will also suspend any account dedicated to posting this type of content", the spokesperson added.

Deepfakes involve the use of artificial intelligence software to create a computer-generated version of a subject's face that closely matches the original expressions of another person in a video. The subreddit for FakeApp, a program that allows anyone to swap faces in videos, is still online.

As all of this is freely available information, it could be done without that person's consent.

Pornhub said, 'We do not tolerate any non-consensual content on the site and we remove all said content as soon as we are made aware of it.

"We encourage anyone who encounters this issue to visit our content removal page so they can officially make a request".

Presumably, users haven't flagged those videos yet.

While some redditors made an attempt to separate the technology behind deepfakes from the content-and that group will certainly be upset about the demise of the deepfakes subreddit-the app was mostly being used to produce porn.
