Nike Releases England 2018 World Cup Kit

Nike, on Wednesday unveiled the kits Nigeria will wear at this year's World Cup in Russian Federation.

And just like the team under manager Gareth Southgate, sports manufacturer Nike have played it safe - and a little boring if the truth be told.

The response, like the kit, was predictably underwhelming. The new jersey designs were unveiled on Nike's official YouTube channel on Wednesday. The shorts are plain white.

The icons are positioned on the shirts as follows: the Rose on the inner neck, the Cross on the outside back, and the Crest on the shirt front. In a video Nike posted, players seeing the kits for the first time liked the looks so much they started planning what trainers they would wear with them.

The house wear designs have a distinctive, traditional look about them. "They are part of a resoundingly cool culture". "Believe me, this kit could be our lucky charm in Russian Federation".

England launch new 2018 home and away kits ahead of World Cup

The Super Eagles' home shirt features a bright green-and-white zig-zag pattern spreading across the torso and the contrasting sleeves.

David Garnett posted: '@nikesoccer out did themselves with the Nigeria kit.

Thoughts on the new kit? The away jersey is reminiscent of Nigeria's Nike-made jerseys at the 1994 World Cupwhen the country made its first ever appearance at the tournament.

The away kit, meanwhile, is one tone of red too, with a white Nike swoosh and numbers, but there is no white on the collar to mirror the home design.
