Elon Musk Explains Why the Falcon Heavy Center Core Crashed

Musk has never been one to shy away from a challenge, diving head-first into projects that most people would tuck tail and run from. In fact, he made an awesome video of SpaceX's failed Falcon 9 booster landings for us to watch in the past.

Once A Shortfall of Gravitas joins Of Course I Still Love You, SpaceX can handle increased launch operations efficiently and can also land as many boosters as possible so as to make rocket launch cheaper.

This was partly due to Musk offering his personal 2008 Roadster instead of using a hunk of metal as a dummy payload.

Last week's Falcon Heavy launch saw the two side boosters come down side by side at Landing Zones 1 and 2 at Cape Canaveral, while the middle booster attempted an ultimately unsuccessful landing on Of Course I Still Love You.

The Falcon Heavy is composed of three Falcon 9 boosters.

"Not enough ignition fluid to light the outer two engines after several three engine relights", Musk wrote.

Streelman is an elite ball striker ( 19 in SG: Tee to Green ) that tends to go as far as his below average putter takes him. He also acknowledged last week that Riviera is "a flawless course " for those that are striking it well .

The fix, he said, was "pretty obvious".

According to the SpaceX boss, it was simply down to the fact there there was a shortage of ignition fluid. Musk, the founder and CEO of the West Coast-based rocket company SpaceX, took to Twitter yesterday to casually mention how a third drone ship is now under construction for the Space Coast. He tweeted that the addition of A Shortfall Of Gravitas would also support busier flight schedules for Falcon 9.

Officially called autonomous spaceport drone ships (ASDS), the drones take their name from space-going vessels from the Culture series of novels written by Iain M. Banks. They've developed two series of the special discs; one resides in Musk's personal library, and the other is now rocketing through space in a car's glovebox.

The name of the new drone ship is A Shortfall of Gravitas and will join the now operational Of Course I Still Love You drone ship for East Coast booster landing operations.

Technology pioneered by TWI in Cambridge UK was used in Elon Musk's historic launch of Falcon Heavy from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.

As National Geographic reported from Cape Canaveral on Tuesday, the Falcon Heavy launch is a milestone for private companies' journey into space. The huge Falcon Heavy rocket will play an integral role in seeing those dreams realized and last week's successful launch was years in the making.
