Love's revelations promoted praise from teammate LeBron James, who posted on Twitter: "You're even more powerful now than ever before @kevinlove!"

Steve and Jeffrey Gorman open up about various times in their lives where they have dealt with panic attacks, or similar issues where mental health had a dramatic impact on key moments in adulthood. Sources told ESPN that Love told teammates about having another panic attack during the game against the Thunder during that meeting. "It was like my body was trying to say to me, you're about to die", Love wrote in The Players' Tribune article.

"I've played against DeMar for years, but I never could've guessed that he was struggling with anything", said Love.

"It's so important for people from all walks of life to share that they have a mental illness, so that you can really see it happens to everyone", said Sue Abderholden, executive director of National Alliance of Mental Illness Minnesota.

"It's hard to describe, but everything was spinning, like my brain was trying to climb out of my head", said Love, a five-time All-Star now sidelined after breaking his left hand last month.

The Cavaliers forward detailed how he had his first panic attack when Cleveland faced the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association on November 5 previous year.

That was the infamous team meeting, where Dwyane Wade and Isaiah Thomas reportedly lashed into Love for leaving the arena early.

Love rejoined the team the following day and played against the Milwaukee Bucks two days afterward. Stress about on and off-court things seemed to exacerbate things but Love felt the usual symptoms one would have when suffering a panic attack.

There are only a few physical health issues that result in constant dizzy spells and nearly all of them are serious.

"Today, I've realized I need to change that", Love wrote. Even if it's just somebody can look at it like, "He goes through it and he's still out there being successful and doing this", I'm OK with that'. And like many people who have had them, Love didn't know what was going on at first.

Love averaged 32.6 FanDuel points in 48 games before going down, with 17.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per contest.
